Welcome to East Providence, Rhode Island

The Waterfront Commission has been charged with facilitating the transformation of the East Providence waterfront into a model of urban revitalization.  Its work will help shape the East Providence waterfront for the next one hundred years.

Over the past ten years, we have helped bring five hundred jobs into the Waterfront District and the City.  Here's why businesses should relocate or expand in East Providence!

East Providence receives RIDEM grant for barge removal
The RI Department of Environmental Management has awarded the City with a grant to remove and dispose of two derelict underwater barges in the Providence River, adjacent to Bold Point Park.  The $87,000 grant will help increase safety for the many boater who use the City's boat ramp at Bold Point.
Aspen Aerogels is Expanding

Aspen Aerogels, an energy technology company providing thermal management solutions to the energy insulation market. is constructing a $30 million to their existing facility.  The "Line 3" project will increase the facility's capacity by twenty-five percent to meet growing customer demand.  The Waterfront District project will be a boost for the community, bringing jobs to local contractors, steel workers, concrete workers and equipment operators  See the Aspen Aerogels career webpage for more information on available jobs.
